OFC/NFOEC conference claims to be the "largest technical conference for optical communications in the world". It is a one-week event (next time
March 25 - 29 2007).
OFC and NFOEC are two conferences focusing on different aspects (
OFC = research and development of optical fiber and communications technologies /
NFOEC = engineering and implementation of optical fiber and communications networks and services.)
A number of
2006 submitted papers target
100Gbps OTDM / ETDM or other types of signal transmission as a means of transport for
future 100G Ethernet networks.
e.g.

I would have 100g Ethernet to have gone to this...
