XFP on 100 Gb/s ? / XFI for 100G ?

Thinking for 100 Gbps Ethernet raises the question about the physical media attachement. 10 Gb/s Ethernet uses the XFP modules, which provide the serial single lane electrical interface XFI.
However, 100 Gbps is much more challenging.
The questions are:
  • Is a serial single-lane copper to serial single-lane optical at 100 Gb/s desirable ? - Poll
  • Is a serial single-lane copper to serial single-lane optical at 100 Gb/s feasible ? - Poll
  • When will it be feasible ? - Poll
  • Would a parallel copper path be required (a "XXAUI" / "CAUI") or could a single-lane copper path work? - Poll

It would be great to hear your oppinion below as an answer to these questions OR at least to count your voice in one of the polls.
