Power over Ethernet is an technology which uses twisted pair cabling to supply power to Ethernet devices (such as VoIP phones etc.). A maximum of 13W is allowed per end point, which is provided by a supply of 48V x 350mA. However, this maximum power will possibly be increased in future versions of the standard.
