10G Ethernet / 100G Ethernet - to the home

Ethernet speed is rapidly increasing and the demand for copper based Ethernet transmission is still there even for such high speed signals.
The main reason for this copper-based transmission is installation costs and component costs.
The more 10G Ethernet will become available and installed, the more customers are likely to think of fibre installations as well. Why? - because cheaper LED-based optical components might reduce NIC costs and plastic optical fibres (POF) reduce installation costs for in house cabling.

Taking the 10G-Base-T standard into consideration, I expect 100G Ethernet to become the turning point for fibre based (possibly POF based) Ethernet cabling in large scale.

Feel free to give your voice for or against this expectation.
