IEEE Std 802.3ae-2002 (Amendment to IEEE Std 802.3-2002) (10 Gb/s Ethernet over fibre - 10GBASE-S, 10GBASE-L, 10GBASE-E, 10GBASE-LX4 etc.) has been superseded by IEEE 802.3-2005.
The 10GBASE-T project (10 Gb/s Ethernet over CAT 6 (55m) / CAT 7 (100m) cable) within IEEE 802.3an is said to have completed its work just recently.

The publication of this standard is scheduled for July 2006.
