Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs achieved a 107 Gbps optical data stream, representing 100 Gbps of data transmission plus 7 percent overhead for error correction. The two major technologies used herein are:

  • Duobinary Signaling and
  • Single-Chip Optical Equalizer
